A Hoppy Welltown Brewing Wedding in Tulsa, OK

Looking for the perfect brewery for your dream wedding? Well a Welltown Brewing wedding may be the perfect option for you and your partner.

As a Tulsa wedding photographer I have been to a ton of different venues around the city and this one is such an amazing option. Not only does it have an incredible vibe, but it also has an amazing view and is right downtown giving you a ton of flexibility on your wedding day.

Let’s take a look at the brewery itself and why the Welltown Brewing wedding venue is the perfect choice for you!

About Welltown Brewing

Officially opening its doors in June of 2017, Welltown Brewing has created a space where you can not only get unique and amazing beer, but also connect with friends and maybe make some new ones.

The owners took what was a very old building and transformed it into an incredible space for the community to enjoy. This is such a fun place to be on a regular night and is always filled with tons of laughs and amazing drinks. All of this only gets amplified when you have your wedding here.

The space itself is so spacious and gives you so much flexibility when it comes to what you can do on your wedding day (more on that later). Plus, since it is a brewery, you can spend all the time you want visiting the space and exploring all of it so you are completely comfortable there when your wedding day comes around.

Spaces Around the Venue

The brewery is split into two levels that you can choose from for your wedding – or combine them for an even more amazing night!

Downstairs Taproom

The Downstairs Taproom is the smaller of the two spaces and is perfect for a more intimate wedding. This area has so much character and natural light that makes for an amazing ceremony and reception space.

There is a really great combination of industrial elements and more historic feeling touches like the red brick walls throughout. It makes the space feel a bit modern but also warm and inviting.

The taproom also has a huge bar and is the perfect set up for a more community-styled wedding reception. The space can accommodate up to 100 guests so it is the perfect size if you are having a slightly smaller wedding.

Plus, there are glass garage doors along one wall that not only let in so much natural light, but can also be opened (that is, if the weather is actually nice) giving everyone a bit more space to move around in.

Upstairs Taproom and Rooftop Patio

The second space at Welltown Brewing is the Upstairs Taproom and Rooftop Patio. This would definitely be my recommendation for your wedding location because the rooftop gives you incredible views. I mean who can resist saying “I do” with the city skyline as your backdrop.

Now, obviously, just like any other outdoor wedding, having your ceremony on the rooftop is dependent on the weather, but if you can have it up there, it will definitely be a ceremony you and your guests will never forget.

Not only is this a great place for your ceremony itself, but it is also such an amazing spot for your reception. As the sun sets, you can have string lights lighting up the patio with the city lights shining in the distance.

The Upstairs Taproom and Rooftop Patio is about twice as big as the Downstairs Taproom so it can accommodate up to 200 guests. There is also so much space to play around with up there so you can really transform it into whatever you can dream up for your perfect wedding ceremony.

Combining Both Spaces

While you can rent out either space on its own, you can also combine both of them for an even more incredible wedding. This gives you a bit more flexibility when it comes to your spaces and allows you to be a bit more creative when it comes to your wedding as a whole.

You can say I do with the skyline behind you and enjoy a cocktail hour on the rooftop before heading downstairs for dinner. After everyone has had plenty to eat (and enjoyed some of their in-house beers), you can head back upstairs to dance the night away under the stars.

What a Welltown Brewing Wedding Can Look Like

Because of its location and the setup of the brewery itself, you have a ton of flexibility in designing what your wedding is actually going to look like and where everything is going to take place throughout the day.

First, while the brewery itself may not be the best place to get ready, you can rent out hotel rooms right around the brewery to enjoy your morning and have everyone in your wedding party altogether.

You could also rent out an Airbnb or another rental and spend the night before with your wedding party before getting ready the morning of your wedding.

Since you are so close to a lot of other places in Tulsa, you also have the option to have your actual ceremony and your reception in different locations. If there is a spot in the city you have always dreamed of tying the knot in, you can opt for a ceremony there before you and your guests head over to the brewery for your reception.

We’ve already talked a bit about the spaces themselves, but another thing I love about this venue is that it is not really decorated in any style which basically gives you free range to transform it into whatever you and your partner are envisioning.

If you want to keep it super industrial and modern, you can opt for more sleek chairs and tables with more subtle wedding colors and really lean into the natural vibe of the venue.

On the other hand, if you are a super colorful and unique couple, you can decorate it with vintage items, bright colors, and everything that really feels like “you” without it feeling like it is clashing with the space.

Now, you’re obviously going to get some amazing portraits on the roof with the city skyline in the distance which are going to look stunning, but you can also head outside to sneak away from the chaos of your wedding and have a few more intimate moments with your partner.

Since you are right in the city, you can still get that perfect, urban vibe just a short walk away from the venue doors so you won’t feel like you are ditching your wedding behind or missing out on the festivities.

Audrey and Allison’s Wedding at Welltown Brewing

Welltown Brewing in downtown Tulsa was the location of Audrey and Allison’s first date, so when they finally got engaged, picking their wedding venue was a no brainer! Their ceremony was held on the rooftop just before sunset, with panoramic views of the Tulsa skyline complete with a Chambong toast to their marriage after they said their I do’s.

Final Thoughts on a Welltown Brewing Wedding

So, if you are looking for the perfect venue right in the city that not only have amazing vibes (and drinks) but also gives you and your partner a ton of room to create your dream wedding space, a Welltown Brewing wedding is definitely the way to go.

All you need to make this day even more special is the perfect photographer to capture your incredible wedding. I would love to be a part of this day with you and absolutely love shooting weddings here.
